Central to tantric Buddhist practice, the bell & dorje
represent the
feminine principle of wisdom & the masculine
principle of compassionate action.
Together, they symbolize the
enlightened mind of the Buddha.

Bells are cast in bronze (i.e. two metals) hand chosen
for craftsmanship & tonal quality. The tops of bell (also
the dorje) are intricately carved polished brass attached to the bell facing the correct seed syllable.

DAMARU
A small double-sided drum which is used with the bell
and dorje to invoke the wisdom deities. It is also used as a
sound offering. Hand-carved and polished wood, with silk
brocade hand strap and crocheted beaters. The tail is made
with the five colors of silk brocade and the case has
silk-embroidered gya-khyil and felt lining.

produces a sound that is said to have the power to awaken us
from ignorance. Hand-crafted in Nepal, they contain
mantra of the major chôd lineage’s & are adorned with a silk
- embroidered hand strap with skull piece, cowry shells &
crocheted beaters. The tail is made with five colors of silk
brocade & the case is constructed of durable cotton
w/embroidered gya-khyil (bliss circles) & carrying strap. |
